Welcome to London, one of the world’s leading financial hubs. Home to the Bank of England, the FTSE 100 stock index and scores of international corporate headquarters, few other locations give such an insight into global banking and commerce. As part of this educational business and finance trip, you’ll speak with the bosses of digital start-ups, visit the famous Lloyd’s insurance market and walk inside the Tower of London. You will also get to enjoy a breath-taking London musical and get a taste of life in Europe’s most dynamic capital.
The purpose of this itinerary is simply to provide you with a flavour of what you can expect from a Business and Finance student tour to London. If you would like to bring a student group to London, Anglo Educational Services will plan a fascinating, well-organised educational study abroad programme tailored to your specific requirements.

MORNING Arrive in the UK, transfer from airport to accommodation by private coach
AFTERNOON Orientation session with Anglo Educational Services staff and Safety Officer
Guided coach tour of London
Upon arrival in London you will be met by your private motor coach, which will transport you to your accommodation. If you arrive before your check in time, then arrangements will have been made with the hotel for you to leave your luggage in a secure area. A pack containing any pre-purchased travelcards, plus directional maps, will have been left for the group leader upon arrival.
An orientation session will be held for you at the Anglo Educational Services Study Centre in conjunction with AES staff. This session will cover health and safety, how to use public transport, as well as offering you helpful hints for your stay.
Following your orientation session, you will board your coach for a guided tour of London with your accredited guide. Don’t forget your camera, as there will be plenty of opportunities for you to disembark the coach and view all that London has to offer. You will see sights such as Buckingham Palace, The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, River Thames and The Shard. Your coach will drop you back at your accommodation, where you will be able to check into your rooms.
Day 2
MORNING Overview lecture on British Business practices
AFTERNOON Visit with Senior Management of a start-up business
EVENING Free
This morning you will proceed to the AES Study Centre where you will meet with one for the UK’s leading authorities on business and finance, who will engage you in an interactive lecture focusing on a specialised area of your choice. Your lecturer will have extensive experience in their field and will offer a thorough analysis of current business trends.
Following free time for an independent lunch after your lecture, you will undertake your first site visit – to a start-up company located in the Old Street area of the City, the gateway to the financial district. You will meet with senior members of the team, and learn about how this area of London- often known as Silicon Roundabout or Tech City- is becoming a bustling hub for entrepreneurs, as well as the role of emerging small businesses in the economy.
We have left the evening free for you to unwind after a long day. Old Street is in Shoreditch, an area of the city that is vibrant, with many things to do, including eating and drinking in one of the numerous independent bars and restaurants, visiting a rooftop bar overlooking the local area, or even playing golf, darts, or table tennis! Shoreditch is also not far from Spitalfields, another local hot spot that you will enjoy.
Day 3
MORNING Opening Ceremony at the Tower of London & Meeting with Marketing and Travel Trade Team at Tower of London
AFTERNOON Visit with CEO of an Online Digital Marketing company
EVENING Free
This morning will be an early start, as your group will be meeting at The Tower of London at around 8.30am, for morning entrance into the opening ceremony. This is a special ceremony, which is only available to view from within the Tower to groups, and involves a military escort and march to open the Tower for the day. After this ceremony, you will be meeting with a member of the Sales and Marketing team, who will talk to you about how a large attraction such as The Tower of London is run, and the importance of sales and marketing. Following this you can take a Beefeater tour if you wish, where you will be taken around the Tower, discussing the history of the Tower, torture, and the secrets held within, including the mystery of the Princes in the Tower.
After exploring the Tower of London independently, you will be meeting with the CEO of an online digital marketing company. You will learn about how the company is structured, the way in which it functions, as well as gaining an overview of the marketing industry.
Day 4
MORNING Guided walking tour of Financial and Business London
AFTERNOON Visit to a major retailing company with lecture and tour
EVENING Free
Make sure you put on your walking shoes this morning, as you will be meeting your expert guide in the heart of the financial district, where you will have a private guided walking tour of the area. Your tour will incorporate not only the history of this spectacular area, but also its growth and development, and how it has become one of the world’s most influential business districts.
After free time for lunch, your students will meet with the marketing team of one of the UK’s best loved retailers. The John Lewis Partnership, incorporating supermarkets and department stores, has a unique structure, used not only by international retailers as an example of corporate responsibility, but also by the UK Government. You will tour a store, be taught about their business, marketing and media strategies, and have the opportunity to ask questions about the company.
Day 5
MORNING Visit to Lloyd’s of London Insurance & Financial Services
AFTERNOON Lecture at the Bank of England Museum
EVENING Theatre production
Lloyd’s of London is one of the UK’s most renowned financial establishments. Famed not only nationally but throughout the world, AES groups are offered the opportunity to take a guided tour of their iconic building, including, in some cases, a visit to the trading floor . Your tour guide will be an experienced member of staff, who will be able to offer in-depth knowledge of the company and London’s financial markets.
In the afternoon you will make the short hop to the Bank of England Museum, located in the ornate Bank of England building. Here you will participate in a workshop covering the role of the Bank, the economy and the current financial climate. You will also have the opportunity to explore the museum independently, and observe items from the Bank’s collections used to illustrate the history of the institution and its role today at the centre of the UK economy.
After a full day of activities, you will all have the opportunity to proceed to the theatre district, where you will see one of London’s breath-taking musicals. Something that everyone should do when they are in London!
Day 6
MORNING Free day to explore London
AFTERNOON Free day to explore London
EVENING Farewell group dinner
We have left the final day free, so that you can reflect on what you have learnt over the week. This is also a day when you can do some sight-seeing, perhaps taking a walk through Hyde Park, strolling along Regent’s Street, or even exploring Marylebone. If you wanted to see London from afar and take in the whole financial district, why not view it from one of the high points in London- Primrose Hill, Alexandra Palace, and Parliament Hill all offer fantastic panoramic views of London.
After a free day to experience the delights of London, you will meet up for a farewell meal at a local pub before your departure tomorrow morning.
Day 7
MORNING Check out of hotel. Private coach transfer to airport.
This morning you will be transported to the airport via private coach for your flight home. We hope you have had a memorable trip and look forward to welcoming you to London again one day.
