The experience I have gotten from this program was everything I wanted to be and even more. My internship at a non-profit has allowed me to work with the most big-hearted people I have ever met. As a first-generation student, living and interning in London was once in a lifetime dream and opportunity. Overall I have learned so much about myself and my values. London is now a second home to me, and I would definitely love to come back and live and work in London in the future.

My name is Zach and I spent my summer in London at an internship with Publishing Business. We produce four magazines (Mayfair Times, Sloane Square, Belgravia, and Victoria) for those who live in and are visiting the boroughs of western-central London. I would recommend this internship to anyone who has the same general career ambitions that I do, as well as some amount of training in news-writing. Despite the sometimes intense workload, there was still plenty of time to go out, explore the city, and have fun.

We've been holding our Designated Lead Person for Safeguarding events at Anglo Educational Services venues for many years. The staff always offer the warmest of welcomes to myself and our delegates. This attention is more welcome than ever.

I was impressed to see that they're using measures like track and trace and taking each person's temperature (using a handsfree thermometer) as they enter the building. And there are lots of cleaning & protection measures to keep people safe while we conduct our safeguarding training.

The staff members always actively support me - making sure I have everything I need and when possible, even giving me a choice of rooms. Myself, my coordinator and our delegates notice and sincerely appreciate the very customer-orientated service that Anglo and its staff members provide. We are confident that they know what they are doing to keep people safe at this time. We'll certainly continue to hold our training events with them throughout this COVID-19 health crisis - and way beyond.

While studying abroad I had hoped to gain work skills in a digital marketing role because that is the job that I want to have in the future. I was lucky to be placed in a position at a luxury hotel in London. During my time there I worked as a digital marketing intern where I was able to develop a social media content curation plan for their Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. My job was different everyday, from working with their photographer on photo-shoot days, to attending meetings with the team looking to increase business for the hotel. I loved every second in my position and was able to learn so many new skills related to my future as a digital marketing manager for a company.

I was nervous to study abroad as any student would be because you are away from home in a new place for 4 months, but Anglo made the transition easy by helping us learn the tube with maps and providing key resources regarding the city. Studying abroad in London was by far one of the greatest life experiences that I will be able to cherish for a long time. I was able to visit 10 countries apart from England and was able to experience many new cultures that really expanded my views as a person.

As cliché as it is, going abroad truly changed my life. I learned so much about myself and the person I wanted to be. The greatest lesson I learned was just how beneficial it is to work internationally in some sort of capacity.

My internship was one of those moments that truly was pivotal for my career. I learned more in those ten weeks than all my other jobs I’ve ever had.

One of the biggest takeaways from my Internship was how much I love digital analytics and how I hope to pursue a career. The SEO and SEM fields were something that I never even thought about getting into until after I completed my internship in London. Now I am so excited that I finally feel like I found my niche in the marketing field.

It’s crazy to think that if I wasn’t accepted into the abroad program I never would have learned these things about myself! Gaining that real-world experience in an international setting truly allowed me to appreciate global marketing through my own eyes. Still to this day I think back to my experience and how much I miss learning lifelong skills at a company that allowed me to grow as a professional and as a person!

Anglo exceeded my expectations by providing my peers and me the opportunity to have both in classroom, and external trips throughout the city which gave us a real-life perspective of the history, art, and culture of the area. We were able to go to several British museums and we attended a theatre production once a week. These were the kinds of excursions that, as a business student, I was not expecting, but they ended up providing me with the most in-depth learning experience possible.

For my internship I gained so much knowledge into the IFRS accounting system, new ways to speak with customers, and got to work with people from several different countries. As an accounting major, it was crucial for my learning having the chance to work with IFRS because it made me a more versatile applicant for potential future jobs.

I thoroughly enjoyed the way that Anglo approached this program. They tailored it in a way that made it easy for my classmates and I to meet our academic requirements. Anglo has effectively created a program based on my own personal preferences and found a company which related factors to my major in accounting. All of this served as an opportunity to stand out from my peers, with an experiences that not many students will ever receive.

I decided to study abroad in London because of Anglo's internship program. I got the opportunity to live in the coolest city in the world and work at a magazine. This was ultimately the best experience I could have had because I was busy in the best way.

I was hoping to gain work experience, and I came out networking unlike I could have ever imagined. The creative opportunities and social skills I acquired from this program are unmatched. The program was the perfect blend of independence and unique experiences.

I had many friends studying abroad in other programs, but no one got the quality of experience as I did. I would not have gone with any other program!

I had the greatest opportunity to take part in an internship at with a Children’s Charity in London. My time in London was truly meaningful and irreplaceable.

Prior to the trip abroad, I experienced a lot of anxiety due to the fact that I would be more than 5,000 miles away from my loved ones. On top of this, I would be living in a completely different country on my own. I greatly appreciated the resources that AES provided us to better adjust to this life abroad.

My experience abroad provided me with a snippet of what my potential post-grad life would be like. I was placed at a charity where I could take initiative, hone my creativity and communication skills, and explore a field I never considered for myself. My internship expanded my network and connections; they created a welcoming environment in which I am comfortable to maintain contact with everyone there to this day!

Before going abroad I was concerned that I wouldn't get as much responsibility as I craved while interning. I also thought that I might not make connections with those that were also studying abroad. I was wrong on both counts. I was given so much trust to initiate and be part of the going ons of the non-profit from the beginning. I made friends with those I worked with as well as with my peers who were studying abroad. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience.

The application process was fairly simple. When I got to London, everything I needed to know about my internship was given to me. My semester went so smoothly and the addition of the internship did not deter me from travelling and enjoying the many different cultures I encountered. I was able to email the team about any concerns and every time someone replied promptly.

I loved London and the people I met and got to work with. I left knowing that I'd be back for graduate studies. I fell in love with all of it and can't wait until I'm back next. I learned how to use the transportation like a pro and the best place to have tea and scones. My bosses at the internship were amazing.

I appreciated how closely AES viewed my interest and really matched me with an internship experience that was memorable. I learned how a non-profit runs from the inside out and I couldn't have done that if my interests hadn't been listened to so closely.

I’ve been working with AES for thirty years and can guarantee that they are the best in that business.  My former colleagues at two other universities where I’ve taught the British Media study abroad course have tried other vendors, but have come back to AES for good.  AES is a great company who values their clients and takes care of their needs. AES is always available and lives up to every commitment.  While we have challenges offering a course in London, housing is not one of them.  We know that the quality of the flats will be high as will student satisfaction.

We have nothing but praise for the logistical and organizational work AES did for us in creating and running our short-term London Theatre Study Abroad program. AES allowed us to truly customize each day and every event to fit the needs of our students and our overall vision for the program. The entire experience ran so smoothly, from having the appropriate travel passes and map information waiting for us at our hotel, to the breadth of theatre shows and wonderful tickets they were able to arrange for us, to the various workshops and in-depth tours at the Globe and National Theatres. Everything happened on schedule and personnel were ready and waiting for us when we arrived.

AES’ communication with us throughout the process couldn’t have been better. The combination of emails and phone calls worked so efficiently. We were always notified when an event or show was confirmed, given prompt notice when timing or availability had changed, and our complete itinerary was quickly updated and sent to us when changes were made. They are extremely flexible and go out of their way to get you what you want.

Probably the most amazing aspect of our experience with AES is that they arrange this all for a reasonable fee. There are no hidden costs or surprises.

We would encourage anyone considering developing a study abroad program to contact AES first. You won’t be disappointed.
