Introduction

As one of the oldest nations in Europe, in recent years Portugal has become increasingly of interest to Study Abroad programmes. Portugal was one of the founding members of NATO, and is rated highly in world rankings for peace, democracy, and freedom of the press just to name a few.

From the capital city of Lisbon, with its high speed train links to many European cities, to the Moorish town of Sintra and the winding rivers of the Douro Valley, home to Porto, those looking to develop an understanding of a lesser known country, will find a wealth of options for educational tours. Anglo Educational Services has assisted a variety of groups, some of whom have participated in a tale of two cities, combining their stay with locations in both Spain and Morocco, and others who have made the decision to cover a range of areas in Portugal.  With strong connections to businesses, universities and NGOs, as well as food production companies, AES will work with faculty to put together a customised programme, designed to suit the academic aims and objectives of the group.
