Introduction
For many years, Anglo Educational Services has organised Study Abroad programmes and educational tours in France, and we have built a myriad of contacts in various areas to make our educational tours a rewarding and enriching experience for all participants.
Although most faculty-led groups tend to base themselves in Paris, for History professors and lecturers it is important not to forget the Somme, or the beaches of Normandy – both of which enable students to explore some exceptionally interesting sites and enrich their theoretical learning by visiting the places read about in books.
For those teaching Art History, Literature, or Music, the rich artistic history of France is of particular interest. After all, France gave us painters such as Monet, Cézanne and Matisse; writers such as Balzac, Voltaire and Flaubert; and musical talents such as Debussy, Piaf and Paradis.
If you take students to France, it is also possible to visit the UK during your educational tour. Travelling by Eurostar – the high-speed train between Paris and London, taking less than two-and-a-half hours – those wishing to experience A Tale of Two Cities can easily do so cost effectively and within time constraints.
