The PGC in Business Administration is a 6 to 12-month study program that serves as the first stage of the Online Global MBA (GMBA). For the June 2025 and January 2026 start, the PGC consists of the following 4 modules, totally 60 credits:
These modules provide a strong foundation in global business leadership, strategy, and professional development, equipping students with the skills needed to navigate today’s dynamic business landscape.
Modules are taught in pairs, with each lasting seven weeks, followed by a three-week assessment period. Assessment methods combines practical and theoretical approaches, including case studies, business reports, financial analysis, presentations, business simulations, and personal development plans. This variety ensures students develop both analytical and practical skills for career advancement.
Note: The first module, Contemporary Issues in the Global Business Environment, sets the foundation for the rest of the program, providing essential insights into global business challenges. While the following 3 PGC modules may vary depending on the GMBA schedule, modules available to each intake will be confirmed before the start of the program, ensuring participants are informed about their course structure in advance.
A PGC (60 credits) is a shorter taught postgraduate award which provides Masters (180 credits) level training in a specific area but takes less time for a student to complete. It takes around half the time of a PGDip (120 credits) to complete, and is therefore ideal for anyone who wishes to learn more about a subject without having to go on and complete a dissertation or consultancy project. It is also suitable for anyone who cannot commit financially to a full Masters degree.
The Online Global MBA course consists of ten 15-credit taught modules and one 30-credit individual consultancy project. The 15-credit modules run in pairs and consist of 7 weeks of teaching followed by 3 weeks to complete the assessment. The summative 30-credit individual consultancy project is a standalone module, completed over 10 weeks. The scheduled programme duration of the distance learning MBA is two years, but there are options to slow down or speed up studies to fit around personal commitments.
The programme is delivered as distance learning and will include a range of online materials including learning materials, videos, independent and group activities. This flexible format allows students to access the course materials and participate in discussions at their own convenience, making it ideal for working professionals or those with busy schedules. Additionally, our online platform provides opportunities for students to collaborate with classmates from around the world, fostering a diverse and global learning experience. Throughout the programme, you will be expected to undertake substantial independent study.
Upon completion of the first 120 credits, students will progress onto the final 60 credits of the Online Global MBA course where they will develop the skills required to undertake the independent consultancy project, usually on behalf of their organisation.
The GMBA is accredited by the Institute for Leadership and Management (ILM), leading to a Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Leadership and Management adding extra professional recognition to the qualification. Students will also receive a digital credential badge to showcase their achievement on LinkedIn.
