Short Courses in Partnership with the University of Salford in Manchester

Nursing and Midwifery Short Course

In cooperation with the University of Salford, we offer an interactive course for student nurses and a midwifery short course. This is a 3-week course delivered and supported by specialists. By the end of the course, students will be able to understand the UK healthcare system.

Each of our courses follows a Scheme of Learning covering each topic in detail, with structured professional delivery. This will enable the learner to develop to their full potential and beyond.

This five-week Broadcast Journalism course will take the students on a journey of real-world industry experiences to enable them to understand the landscape of the UK’s media industry, and specifically, within the Greater Manchester region.

The students can expect to research, present/report, shoot edit, and produce two pieces of work which have originated from live industry briefs. For the first of these, they will receive internal feedback from the teaching staff and for the second, the feedback will be from teaching staff, alumni, and industry partners such as BBC or ITV.

By the end of this course, students will be able to

  • Demonstrate detailed knowledge and understanding of key aspects of entrepreneurial thinking and behaviours;
  • Demonstrate a well-developed understanding of, and ability to deploy, a range of industry practices, including journalism, documentary film making and project management;
  • Collectively document the creative process and produce an innovative project outcome;
  • Demonstrate ability to professionally present projects/ pitches to external industry clients.
