Community Engaged Learning

AES Community Engaged Learning Programmes offer students the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in real-world community settings through service-learning, actively participating in ethical community engagement built upon on reciprocity and mutually beneficial partnerships. Students collaborate with local organisations, making a positive impact on the community while also developing both personally and professionally. These experiences provide valuable insights and perspectives that contribute to the strengthening of relationships and mutual understanding of one another’s worldviews and experiences. The programs also allow students to earn academic credit while contributing to meaningful projects and deepening their understanding of their role in a globally connected world.

Sample Engagement Projects:

  • Integrating CSR initiatives between community centres and local businesses.
  • Regeneration projects for improved community urban spaces.
  • Development and delivery of education programs for marginalised community members.
  • Designing, promotion and campaigning for environmental and climate change programs with local and national NGO’s.
  • Designing and delivering projects that address physical and mental health challenges, while conducting research into the impact of socioeconomic deprivation on community wellbeing.
